For any of you genealogists looking for your ancestors in 1086 and wondering what it was like where they lived then you can now look at the online Domesday Book, just type in the place name. Very interesting to see what your ancestors may have been doing back in those days.All the places my ancestors came from seem to have had slaves in one form or another.http://domesdaymap.co.uk/

Very good, I searched where I lived in Leeds and then the small town I live now, in the Midlands (Rugeley). In 1086 there were more people in this little town than in Armley, strange that Leeds grew and this town stayed small.
Sit thissen dahn an' tell us abaht it.
