Well, that was well-timed! Did anyone go to the launch today?About the city walls thing - this is bugging me now because I'm sure I saw mention of it on some blog post trailing the Leeds Civic Trust talk last year, but can't find it anywhere. It may have been on the 'LOL Leeds Online' site which has now become The City Talking. Can't find it on there, although did come across these:http://thecitytalking.com/news/2012/11/ ... .htmlMaybe I'm misremembering it and it was just a reference to the East Bar stone.Hopefully what's left of the Cloth Hall will still be standing when they finally get round to it next year!

Fascinating stuff Mick. Like cnosni I also wondered what slide 72 was about. The 'The Manor of Leeds in 1086' map (slide 4) is interesting with its 'Open fields of Knostrop' and 'Open fields of Woodhouse'. The 'Waste' areas sounds intriguing, as also does the 'Manorial Park'. I wonder what went on at the latter? I also wonder what the small area marked 'A' was? I notice 'Woodhouse Ridge and Carr' marked and wonder if that is where the Carr Manor area got its name?

Woodhouse Carr was at the bottom, near Buslingthorpe, its the expanse of open grass land bordered by Cambridge Road,Meanwood Road and Cross Chancellor Street
