Hi uncle mick,

I understand so, but I did not know him. Apparently, he was a compere and singer at the Windmill Club and the Ace of Clubs. I knew Dennis Huckerby, Jim Moran and Eugene Lacey. There are three others that I don't know, including the tall chap on the left side of the second photograph. It crossed my mind if it was a very young Tony Hardcastle, because of his size and stance, but, facially, it does not look like him (it would probably have been before Tony's accident when he received the facial injuries and disfigurement). I don't know the chap, third from left, on the second photograph and I don't know the chap on the far left of the third photograph. I suspect that the photographs were taken in the early 1960's, I found them on a Leeds Facebook site.

Re the Windmill .
The photos are so evocative. I never knew the bloke described a big JIm, with Denis Huckerby and Eugene. Photo 2 shows from left to right, Danny, Barry Samples, don't know this chap, then on the right, Eugene.
The small, well turned out chap with the curly hair , is indeed Anthony "Ascot" Heath.
Oh, my lost youth!

Thanks Ian,
The only one i really knew was Tony Heath, I only went to the Windmill once as in those days i considered it an old fashioned sort of place. I was more into the "Ace of Clubs " on Woodhouse St. or the Little Club on Albion Walk. My brother Peter ran the "Penine Variety agency" and used to book some Acts for Denis and Mavis Huckerby. I drove him up to their house near Roundhay Park as i believe Denis liked to some business away from the Club. How smart folks dressed in those days

I mentioned Teddy Joyce's "Ace of Clubs" and on one Saturday night i drove my brother up there to see P.J. Proby who used to spend most of his act talking about being a close friend of Elvis Presley. Peter, having got paid was going into the dressing room and suddenly came flying out " We're off", It seems that P'J, had got got into an argument about what time he would go on Stage. Suddenly he pulled out a Pistol and threatened to blow his head off. We were out of there in record time.
