Not sure of this, because I wasn't taking that much notice as I passed, but I thought I caught sight of the old swimming baths building shrouded in scaffolding and that green safety mesh they use when working on buildings. The ground to the rear seemed to be being dug for some building foundations. A shame it has stood so long to suffer so much neglect and dereliction over the years.
Anyone able to confirm what I thought I saw?

There is a planning application currently for a gym, parking etc. and for
a wall hung digital sign so I don't think demolition is very likely

Is this the end of the story ...or the beginning of a legend?

At least it's not a yet another bar/restaurant, apartments, betting shop or a charity shop!buffaloskinner wrote:Another gym, that's all we need

As this a listed building will the Company Rushbond get a grant to help convert this long abandoned place ?,
It nearly brought a tear to my eye reading the Company director March Finch "This is a wonderful building Engrained in the heart of the Community " I should not think there has been much community spirit around there for the last 50 years or so.
As kids my elder brother and sister used to go swimming there on a weekend and i was dragged along reluctantly. I vaguely remember it a vast area, think it had a balcony.
I suppose it is progress to let the development firms take over otherwise demolition is the next stage,
I do remember reading about this Firm applying to develop the Majestic in City Square, how did that work out ?.
