Hi Brandy was big that wasn't it. Hee Hee!!
Might get the hang of this yet.
There are literally hundreds all over Leeds it's just that we never notice them.
Here's something else you don't see many of until you take notice.

Ah! Not so much for putting out the fire as keeping itgoing - a coal 'ole cover!
Slid out and a large metal shute put into place and the coal man empties his sacks into it and fills up the coal cellar. Haven't we had one or two of these before?

Fascinating little reminders of the past - I used to live in Argie Terrace and never noticed the sign in the next street - I daresay there were/are also one or two in Argie Terrace and I'll have a look next time near there.
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

It's amazing how many types of various ironwork there is,we take for granted what's underground and yet we walk all over this sort of thing and never see it.
Remember the old saying,Watch where your going!

Re: HYDRANT SIGN
Hi,
I'm looking for all of them. I need them to one of my idea and they has to be located in the Leeds center.
I've found four and now I have the another, fifth one, thanks to one of you (the best Flickr FH compilation).
So here is my list:

So. Do you know any other?
Thanks,

Re: HYDRANT SIGN
Hi Kamil and welcome to Secret Leeds.
As to where there are Fire Hydrant signs in the centre of Leeds I don't know, but I suspect there may be many when you start looking for them so good luck in what may be a long quest in finding even most.
