Thanks Uncle Mick.     The same for me jd, I was born in Middleton 1949 and it's 50+ plus years since I have been in the park, It was a super place when you were a kidBoating lake, fishing lake (same lake with a fence across the middle), tennis courts, putting green, bowling green & the woods to do all your chumping prior to bonfire night. Happy days

Looks amazing doesn't it? I haven't been there since I was a kid and had forgotten it was so big.Can anyone comment on what its like for a walk around with our dog though? We've stopped going to Roundhay Park due to the attitude and actions of a minority of dog walkers, so wouldn't like to trek over there and find the same problems...

Happy days I have not been there for many years i see the old stone built cafe has gone its a shame i used to think it added to the setting.Has you say the metal fence has gone was this to stop the boats from grounding at the shallow end i used to walk up from Hunslet to play around the park happy times.
No matter were i end my days im an Hunslet lad with Hunslet ways.

Hi ravey have you tried Farnley Hall for walking the dog plenty of open space and a nice path to walk around the park Its nothing like the size of Roundhay but still a nice spot to take the dog.

I thought his "Kirky" Abbey one was terrific, and it would be nice to see him doing more of Leeds.http://www.youtube.com/user/druid1980/v ... =1&sort=dd
