Is that it......http://www.leodis.org/display.aspx?reso ... SPLAY=FULL Hi S&P yes your quite right those buildings would have stood pretty much in the same spot today. The Algernon Firth Building (Pathology) can be seen behind, which in itself is a building of some architectural merit. It's quite brutal in it's design. Not many people actually see it with it being tucked away like it is though. But those old buildings on the Leodis photo were knocked down to make way for the ring road construction. If you look at photos of it being built you can see a wide swathe of land was cleared, and not just the immediate area where the actual ring road was built. I recall the Clarendon Wing being built sometime in the late 1980's, or early 1990's. So either nothing stood on top of the tunnel from 1974, or another building did, and it was demolished to make way for the new Clarendon Wing. That sounds a bit confusing I know salt 'n pepper wrote: salt 'n pepper wrote: Maybe not. Demolished 1974.....http://www.leodis.org/display.aspx?reso ... SPLAY=FULL Edited to add... We cross posted there

I used to get the 57 or 58 'Circular' bus up to school when I started in 1961.One of them - I can't remember which - used to go past St George's Crypt and up towards Woodhouse Square. The same route today would see the bus going across the pedestrian access bridge with the Clarendon Wing on the right. I didn't realise this was Clarendon Road then. Here it is..http://www.leodis.org/display.aspx?reso ... SPLAY=FULL
