For this one, we go underground...Where is the architectural feature of Leeds, up close & out of context? It's not gates somewhere at the corn exchange is it? There are some stairs going down to the cellars outside.

But why is there a brick wall directly on the other side of them, even though you are looking out?

Sorry Munki - missed that bit!I think it is because this gate was raised and lowered something like a portcullis and the photograph taken from the inside.
