JCD I think you missed hyperions response to Francof. If JB Kitson had a 4.5ft beard then SHE belonged in a circus not as Lord Mayor of Leeds as she was in 1942/3. Churchill may well have visited Leeds more than once but there is no mention of one being while JBK was Lord Mayor in this short family biography http://jessiebeatricekitson.org/lordMayor.html

Sorry Tyke Bhoy about that. At least I was correct about the Lord mayor at the time. Have spoken to my older sister and she says that Winston came again in 1945 as part of a Nationwide Victory tour. Regards J.C.D.
