I came across an ex-library book in a charity shop, by the name of 'The Making of Leeds' by David Goodman the other day and it is quite an interesting read, covering social, industrial, education and health fro the very earliest days of Leeds. It doesn't go into much details, but rather gives an overall picture of Leeds's development generally.
