Re: Leeds Libraries
There are a couple of events listed that I wouldn't mind attending IF I still lived in Leeds.buffaloskinner wrote:

Is the Compton Center what I used to call Compton Rd Library? That was the first library I ever joined (aged 9). I remember some gruesome exhibitions there ( shrunken heads and Nazi lampshades made from human skin ) -a far cry from the Rasberry Pi family robots competition scheduled this Feb.
It used to be said that the statue of the Black Prince had been placed in City Square , near the station, pointing South to tell all the southerners who've just got off the train to b****r off back down south!

The Compton Centre is a new building next to the old library which is still standing.

Thanks for posting the newsletter! If anyone wants to get regular events programmes specifically from the Local and Family History department, please just e-mail us at [email protected]. It's worth following our blog, www.secretlibraryleeds.net, as well - the events programme is usually found on there as well.
Thanks,
