Merrion Centre. Flying Machine

Been away from Leeds for over 15 years . Last in the Merrion Centre ... 20 years ago, or so.

As a schoolkid, I watched it being built instead of listening to French , Geography & History lessons .

The Roland Emmet Flying Machine fascinated our kids, when young, as did the pet shop window in The Tower Arcade .

Is the Flying Machine still there ? If not, where is it ?

A number of Emmett's machines have lived for some time in an unused area of the Merrion Centre. For the last couple of weeks or so a number of them - including the flying machine - have been displayed in rotation just past the ramped Merrion St entrance. I don't know for how much longerthis will continue -mor whether the "season" of display has already finished.

I have passed the machines currently on display a number of times but have not taken any photos as there were always too many people milling around them when I've been there to get good photos.
