[quote="Leodian"]Oh dear the YEP poor thing, you've got to feel sorry for it at times ;).

Yesterday's issue (Monday January 2 2017) was dated Tuesday January 2 2017 on its front page and Monday January 1 2017 on its back page  (the date on other pages that I checked had the correct date). Today's issue (Tuesday January 3 2017) has though got the correct date!

I know I've done lots of posts in this YEP thread but I do not deliberately set out to find things. It's just that some things stand out, being so obvious. I do however hope that I have not become boring by posting so many items

Hello jma. This is the post above that is there when i come on site. maybe i intended add something to it but one thing is crtain i can't get rid of it.
I really appreciate you taking the time out to be helpful. Browsers etc. are way above my head, all i know is that each time i have come on site previously i have been straight on all the subject. now it is always this.

THe difference is i could delete all lof this but can't delte it on my page.

Sorry to be such a dope. Jack Daly.

I'd be the last person to consider anybody a dope for not being a computer expert. The people I get annoyed with are experts whose understanding of a subject is insufficient to be able to explain it without jargon. My point there is that I am pretty good at following instructions, but no good when somebody assumes that everybody knows this or that. I like my instructions thread-to-needle.

I've looked it up and the jargon I didn't know was "address bar." That's where you type in whatever you want to search for. One of the many wonders of these things is that they can guess at what you want if you are not being precise, but that's only useful if the computer's mind works just like the user's.

I often refer to a computer putting its tongue out at me when what I'm trying to do doesn't match what the darned thing expects. Whatever the cause it's very frustrating and I appreciate how you probably feel just now, having been there myself many times.

I still believe that you need to limit your search to secretleeds.com

According to this mornings/night edition the YEP has a new editor one Hannah Thaxter who talks like
the proverbial new broom !

Let's hope she reads this thread then, all 72 pages !

The one that used to confuse me was the instruction hit 'RETURN'.
I spent several hours looking for a key called RETURN, only to find out that the 'experts' had renamed it ENTER and not told anyone.

Another price hike.
72 to 77 pence from today.
Methinks another lost customer for a ragbag of
an evening ? paper.
On line viewing in future for me.

Hi dogduke :).

I noticed the rise so having the usual 72p ready I did thankfully have a £1 coin which I used but was confusingly given 45p change! I pointed it out and found that it was a special price of 55p! I will find out tomorrow if that was a one day offer or not. I notice that the cost of an annual subscription has though been frozen.

That it is becoming an ever more Leeds newspaper, not a Yorkshire one, is seen in the editor's comment "We want more Leeds voices in our paper...our City Buzz section makes sure you're bang up to date on everything that's happening on the social scene in Leeds. Digital City does the same for the fast-changing technological world in this city...it goes without saying that we back the Whites all the way and will bring you every piece of news, all the views and every kick of the ball from Elland Road".

Edit added April 11 2017. The YEP cost me 77p today so the 55p charge yesterday seems to have been a one-day offer price at my newsagent!

If you want your YEP for nowt, they're handing them out for free every day at the City Square entrance to the railway station.

That's a good idea if those City Square Toilets are still there and one is caught short.
