I don't remember this show at all! When was it on? What was it? Documentary? Comedy? Who was in it?

One of the earliest films of Leeds must have been the Mitchell & Kenyon film of the reception for and the interview of Private Charles Ward VC who won his medal during the Boer War, by crossing the line to collect reinforcements. Ward was the last VC winner to have his award presented by Queen Victoria. The film last about two minutes and was shown on the recent BBC 2 series on Mitchell & Kenyon

Although it's meant to be elsewhere, what about the village of "Emmerdale", which is a purpose built set in the grounds of Harewood House. The public can't get to the village bit of the set, but you can wander past the Dingle farm at your leisure, as it's next to a public footpath.

Anyone remember 'Indoor League' which was filmed at the then newly built Irish Centre on York Road in the early/mid seventies? It covered games like darts, arm wrestling and skittles. It was hosted by the late Freddie Trueman whos parting catch phrase was pronounced as 'Al Si Thi'. Mus'n't forget also 'The Good Old' Days filmed at the famous City Varieties. I remember the filming of 'Queenies Castle' because they filmed a couple of scenes around the 'Slip Inn' Pub which was at the top of our street in Glensdale Road, Leeds 9.
