Here is my first effort. using Windows 8 with IE (with aol add-on)My first effort failed (size=approx. 350kb) when I tried to add attachment and got server error message sayin there was a generic error in GDI+. Ihave screen with details if necessary .Strange. I got error message, but it seems to have posted

2nd effort. using windows 8, with firefox updated 2 weeks ago, so should be latest version

I think you may misunderstand, chemimike, the new uploader is on a test site attached to this -- this site is still using the old uploader.I was trying out the new uploader earlier today and I have to say I'm impressed as it seems to do what the old one did but with [almost] every browser I tried.
