I've posted this in here as we don't seem to have an "Arts" section (Philistines). :-)http://www.projectspaceleeds.org.uk/str ... e.aspxThis is a collection of photographs taken in and around Leeds in the 1960's and 1970's. There is a feature on it in tonights YEP and it looks fantastically evocative. If you've got the paper you'll see the Methodist Church at Seacroft (which is still standing) and the shop next door (which isn't) before the area was redeveloped. I can remember going into that shop as a kid - it was a proper old fashioned shop, just like you remember. http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/f ... 2150.jpYou can also contribute photos of your own from the same time, and they want to know if you (or anyone you know) are in any of the photos. Anyway, it's on from the 27th March at the Whitehall Waterfront gallery, which is off Whitehall Road - take the riverside walk from the station. Maybe I'll see you there.

Some of these pictures were briefly exhibited at the Cardigan Centre in Hyde Park recently (for one afternoon only, which I missed, but a selection are online). There are some great shots, well worth a visit, I will try to see them this time.I found some nice photos on flickr recently of Leeds in the 70's, I've identified a few locations but some have me stumped (possibly because the streets featured have been demolished?)http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=leeds&w ... N00Perhaps some more long term residents could see if they recognise a few of them. This one has me stumped, I thought it was the land to the side of the Cedars in Armley but they don't have binyards on the end, and the land slopes away too much. It looks like City House in the distance, but that isn't much help:http://www.flickr.com/photos/daveglass/303273415/Any ideas?

Hi If!Thanks for those street pix on flickr.Only one I recognise (No 7) is taken on the hilland steps in the Rosebanks, looking down across Rosebank Grove and Westfield Crescent towardWoodsley Road.I lived in Rosebank View from '37 to '47 as a childand if you check back on 'The Rosebanks' thread(If you can find it!) you'll see lots of 'before and after'shots which I compiled.(Printed by Munki!) Several show the almostidentical view of pic no 7 ,for a treat(!) Some are up to datein colour!!! That area became part of the Rosebank Millenium Green.Arry
