http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/n ... 14045Leeds will attempt to smash the world record for the most people on space hoppers this Saturday when hundreds of people head to Roundhay Park to bounce for cancer research. All ages are invited to embrace the iconic 1970s toys and take part in Bounce for Leeds, which has been organised by Yorkshire Cancer Research to raise thousands of pounds for research, treatment and diagnosis projects throughout the region. The current world record was set by the Street Performance World Championship in Dublin, Ireland, last June, when 1,505 participants took to their hoppers for 60 seconds, and now the charity is hoping to bring the record to Yorkshire.Entries will be accepted on the day, anyone aged six or over can take part, the entry fee is £10 and everyone will receive a T-shirt and space hopper to keep, registration will start from 9.45am near The Mansion, Mansion Lane, Roundhay Park, and the bounce is expected to begin at 11am.Emma Young, Head of Events at Yorkshire Cancer Research, said: "We're very excited about our space hopper world record attempt and we hope that lots of people will come down on Saturday to join in the fun! "It will be a great day out for everyone and of course, those who take part will be helping to raise money and awareness for a very worthwhile cause."All money raised at the event will go towards ensuring that people in Yorkshire, who get cancer, will have the best possible chances."
