The previous attachment was from "Times Online". Attached is a 1938 map which shows both stadiums. The stadium on the north side is just marked as Fullerton Park

I am not sure about the greyhound racing on Fullerton Park, we have evidence of 1927, but nothing after 1938.I don't think LUFC bought Fullerton Park for the training pitches until the 1950's, though I could be persuaded otherwise.

The attachment is from 9th Dec 1932What's your thoughts Jon?

What is the contract relating to? Is there any clue? Is it a contract to stage greyhound racing?

It appears then that greyhound racing took place on Fullerton Park for approx 1 year from July 1927 before being replaced by speedway. Around the same time (mid 1927) the rival greyhound track on the south side of Elland Road, run by a different association, was becoming established and evidently won the battle. For 10 years between 1928-1938 there was only one greyhound track (south of ER) and one speedway track (Fullerton Park). Post 1938 there is some conjecture as to whether the Fullerton Park track was then used for greyhound racing in a further attempt to rival the other track.Does this sound like a fair summary?

Hi Jon,There's some more info on Secret Leeds about Fullerton Park. I don't know how to do a link, but if you type in Fullerton in the search facility on here, the threads should come up.

Si,Yes, I have seen them thanks. I read these a while ago but having revisited them now I have dug out this link which is interestinghttp://www.greyhoundderby.com/Leeds%20Greyhoun ... um.htmThis suggests greyhound racing on the Fullerton Park site from October 1927 and that the track on the south side of Elland Road REPLACED it. I am not sure this is the case, and I am fairly sure they were both open together for a short time, if only 10-12 months. Also, the information Uncle Mick posted on this thread earlier states that a meeting was held in July 1927 on Fullerton Park, so the first meeting can't have been October.
