That interesting photo is there vjs (in my browser I need to click on a red cross to see it).Sadly (at least historically), 'Joshua Tetley and Son. Brewers. Leeds' is no longer the case.

Yes, one of the many changes Leeds has seen, and Ed O'Donnell for one deeply regrets the near-disappearance of Tetley's Mild which provided the "fuel" on most band jobs. The photo isn't 60s, hope no one minds-it was on a Lord Mayor's Parade, not sure when, but the band were on a vintage Tet's wagon which, they were assured, was in great condition and had completed the route the previous day. That must have been the last straw for it as it gave out several times along the way-the band was quite happy with that as they could play to an audience for a few numbers instead of being on the move! However, the wagon finally gave up completely on Woodhouse Lane but the band played on, and were still going strong as the recovery lorry towed them away.I'm not very expert at sizing the photos which I guess is it has to be viewed in the browser. Is the Secret Leeds email re new postings operating again? That was a very quick response.

I have been asked by Chris Kenningley clarinet player to upload this shot for him. I by the way was sent in my yellow painted Austin7 ruby to the next pub to get them in. Only halves of Tetleys mild were consumed on the march. This march would have been on Leeds Rag Day. As usual being natural anarchists the route taken by the Black eagles marching band did not follow the designated route, but one which took in as many Tetley's pubs as possible.

Isn't technology wonderful?

I see I'm not the only one having a bit of trouble posting photos, wouldn't have managed at all without advice from Jogon-many thanks. The ones I'll try to post are in Ed O'Donnell's collection and show Acker Bilk at The Cobourg-Ed can't recall who took them so apologies for the lack of acknowledgement, perhaps the photographer will remind him if he sees the pics.
