Okay chaps. There cant be any hard and fast rules on this as people work shifts and /or weekends, and as a result we cant accomodate everyone. All im trying to gauge is what would be the most favourable scenario for as many people as possible to attend either a bit of a walkabout, drink and chat or both.So perhaps having a bit of a tour on a weekend afternoon, followed by an evenings "Deliberation" (hic) would cover a larger proportion of those interested, and therfore contribute to a better experience all round.Im not wanting to "lead " this, just simply guide it so that we can all benefit.

cnosni's idea seems a good one to me. We have lots of people with knowledge of different stuff on here, so the potential for lots of different types of walks, railway, architecture, folklore, ghosts.pubs, cafes etc exists.

I would like to join in and come to a meet, especially if there was some kind of tour involved, I'm sad I missed out on the tour of the Town Hall last week.Unfortunately I could not make it last Friday (morning (noon and night) sickness from pregnancy was too bad)

There was a small piece about secret Leeds been a year old in the Evening post supplement tonight (Sat 8th) It was a bit small. I think they could have done a bit more with the story myself. Anyone see it?

There are only 10 types of people in the world -those who understand binary, and those that don't.

Yeah i'd have said so Brandy. A few pics would have caught the eye. Still if it generates some more good stuff on here i suppose it's done the trick!

Ok everyone. Now,how about some suggestions for tours.Would anyone be willing to do a little work to put one together, probably will require a little planning and research.Phil was thinking about a litt;e railway jaunt to some of the more interesting areas (nothing underhand though i would imagine)Even if we dont have a little tour we can still do a meet up every now and then.

If they'd used a Really Good Researcher, it could have been a Really Good Production! Any publicity is good though if it can inspire more people to contribute - there must be a mine of untapped knowledge out there yet.

Yeah, like there must be some old film footage of Leeds somewhere out there. I have looked for ages now and I cant find anything apart from the Trams DVD. There MUST be someone out there who has something. I mean, pictures are good, but film must be better. If it is Video or Cine standard/ super 8mm or 16mm. I would even convert to DVD for FREE as I have all the equipment, so long as I got a copy!!

Well given that moving film was invented here you would think so eh? I'll get us rolling with some original old skool material...(Probably) the first ever motion picture, the classic film drama 'Roundhay Garden Scene':http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1i40rnpOsAThis is definitely the first film of Leeds city centre, the action thriller 'Traffic Crossing Leeds Bridge':http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7saH58u ... elatedThis is excellent:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eERDGLwn08AThis is also quite amusing, with a great first track too - cover version by They Might Be Giants as I recall... There is some bad language in it though, for those who may be offended:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDOqJxCf ... re=related
