Hi,
I came across this source of reference information freely available online from Leicester University.
It includes Trade directories for Leeds and surrounding areas from 1798 to the 1890's.

Anyone think It would be a good idea if the SL website admins could set up a sticky thread or forum where links to useful reference info about Leeds could be stored?

Leeds Trade Directories free online
It used to be said that the statue of the Black Prince had been placed in City Square , near the station, pointing South to tell all the southerners who've just got off the train to b****r off back down south!

Enter "reference and resource information" in the Google custom search box near the top of the "Forums" or "Board index" pages and you will find the appropriate thread blackprince.
