Please, please, please could somebody help me with this.Could anybody with access to the 1881 and 1891 census please find 35 Dewsbury Road and tell me who the occupants were.I trawled through all the individual enumeration districts and it seems to be missing. I believe that number 35 is on the east side of Dewsbury Road, to the south of the Sun Iron Foundry ie. between Healey Street [to the north] and Jack Lane [to the south].The small terrace of houses indicated is where I believe number 35 to be but it doesn’t seem to appear in either census.

I would hazard a guess that 35 Dewsbury Road was approx here as Oulton Street is on the same census page

Thanks so much for the help.I think the fact that the premises are a lodging house may clear things up a bit.

The 1893 directory indicates that Higgins St is between no 37 & 39 Dewsbury Road. The 1872 directory , although it does not mention Higgins St, shows there was no renumbering between those dates, and thus no 35 must be the red house below

Reference to the 1847 Leeds (Pottery Field) Godfrey map shows that it is an earlier plot boundary, with the narrow pathway leading SW from the west side of the Parkfield pub being the other.
