Tetleys Pub in Ardsley

Post by j.c.d. »

Years ago I used to drink on weekends in a pub just off of the Wakefield Road at Ardsley. It was on a bit of a back road and I can not bring the name of it back to me. I seem to think its name was something to do with Royalty (?) but its memorable thing was that on the walls were pictures of trains and cars all made from clock parts, e.g cogs, wheels and springs. Maybe on reflection it was something called to do with the Railway . Does anyone else remember these unusual brilliant wall decorations Help wanted as it was 40 years ago.

Brother in law just told me it was The Railway

That'll be The Railway on Common Lane, East Ardsley. I used to drink there in the 70s. Great pub. Gorgeous landlady.

Boarded-up now. The pub, not the landlady. Great shame.

Sad to say I can't remember the Landlady but the beer was lovely. Sorry to hear it has gone the way of so many Pubs. Thank you David for the info.
