Just been in touch with my mate in Leeds and he says Gil Singh was only a good family friend from the mid 60's to the mid 80's, and as kids do they called him Uncle Gil. They have lost touch with him now, and like me the last they heard he was running the club on Oatland Lane, so it looks like we're back to square one. Unless anyone on here knows of him.
Sit thissen dahn an' tell us abaht it.

"The Pit" as it was known in the early 60s was a place where gambling occurred, mainly cards and you had to behave in there, the doormen were the monster Jim Moran, a large nasty piece of goods and Paul / Graham Luty who was a bit useful when ejecting troublemakers.
I only went in there a few times though i did spend many happy hours in the Regent up above.Tetley's beer was like cream.
