Phil, there was a Albion Superquick model on a shelf in a perspex box, behind the bar in the Albion until fairly recently. I'm pretty sure it went when a recent landlord, Chris Tremlett, left.I hear he is working at Pool Sports and Social Club now, if I get chance I'll call in and ask him about it for you.

I think it was Simonm who said there was a model in the pub itself but had now gone as well. I'm sure I'll get a piccie of it. cheers mate!

I can't remember who sent me these pictures, but they appear to be a 'rough version' inferior model of the Albion. Some of the detail is correct, but no way a perfect match. I think the one you had was pretty detailed from what I've heard it was like. Plenty of people have told me they had one. This is the best I've seen so far.http://www.flickr.com/photos/phill_dvsn/439613781/     Yeah, Superquick. Their model was far superior - a much more accurate rendition. It even had an interior, but this looked like guesswork, unlike the exterior, which was spot-on.

I will call in the Albion this lunch time (any excuse!) and ask if the model was still there when the current landlady moved in, you never know it might be gathering dust in a cupboard!!!I imagine the model was presented to the pub by Superquick as it had their logo emblazoned on the perspex box!

Oh dear, jusr heard from a friend, she says she thinks the club at Pool recently burnt down, hope the ex-landlord of the Albion had either left or the model was not in there at the time!!!

Hi Phill,we lived in Leeds from the early 1970s until 1993 and were heavily involved with the campaign to prevent the Packhorse and Eldon being demolished for road widening. As I recall, our friend John Quail was the front line orator and also the instigator of the plan to plant a memorial plaque for the 'old' Roscoe when the b#88*rs demolished it in 1983. At the time, I was working on the repair of an old wrought iron bridge on the Aire and Calder navigation, near where we now live. A large chunk of Yorkshire stone, originally part of one of the padstones for the bridge, became 'available' to act as the base for the brass plaque. When my wife spotted this topic on the 'Secret Leeds' forum, she dug out some of the pictures taken on the day that the memorial plaque was planted, including this one...< http://www.flickr.com/photos/30132857@N06/3288495076/ >From this picture, it might be possible to work out where the stone was located, unless the buildings on the opposite side of the road have also gone by now.John's on the left of the 'gang of four, btw and I'm behind the fellow with the glass in his pocket, who'd obviously made an early start. Those were indeed the days...Hope this helps, more pics available if they'd be of use.All the best,    Ken.
