Some tips on finding things on Secret Leeds

As some of the threads become more and more unweildy here's a tip that might help those searching out info.As is well known the 'Search facility' will only direct you to a thread - not the specific item you want.So the best thing to do is find out if there IS a relevant thread using the search facility. Then go to that thread and press Ctrl and F simultaneously (or. if you prefer, both at the same time). This will open up a small window - type in the word you want to search for (e.g. 'Crown' , 'Bull', 'Defenestration' or whatever) and you can then see the word highlighted down the page - go through each page of the thread repeating this and Bob's your proverbial uncle.

Oooh, didn't know that! I also use Google to search for a particular page on a thread to save me scanning through lots of pages. It works as long as you include the words "secret leeds" in the search. For example, the search "secret leeds wilshire crown inn" brings up the following page in the lengthy Skulls thread:http://secretleeds.com/forum/Messages.a ... essage=975
