Yeah, the pointy thing! I think it came off it's pole a few times! The drinking fountain was restored a few years ago. Is it a skull and crossbones carved on it? If so, why?!! The climbing frame I recall was shaped like a rocket. I'm glad to hear the kiosk is still going. They used to make their own lollies from cola or milk. I also remember those green triangular things - Jubilees. We pronounced it "Jubbly" for some reason!Si

Squatch, it was round the back of the hall and you could just see it's funnel from Hall Lane through a gap in the wall.Si, dunno why they are restoring it but i can't imagine it would go back in a park.

I think you're right, Farnleybloke. Especially if it is lagged with asbestos!

The play area is back. No sign of a steamroller though. Shame they couldnt put some of the old things back. Like the longboat type thing. I swear that standing on the end while it flew up in the air and having to duck, so your head didn't get knocked off, was all part of the learning process. i.e balance, bravery.Likewise seesaws, it's all well and good being able to bounce up and down but wasn't it more fun when you could jump off and cause injuries to your little brother as his end hit the floor. Or bang it that hard that his teeth shattered. Not that I ever would of course. It's just a rumour

I can't get this one to work, either. So what's happening to the steamroller?
