Flowers for Leeds competition!

A Council sponsored event, quite a serious thing back then and I think it still runs in a similar guise even today, though not seen much publicised for a while. Somewhere in the depths of the loft in a box of photos I should still have a pic (complete with deckled edges!) of Granddad's entry from the late 30's which won a prize in the competition.

A bit off-topic but I wonder what the isolated building was that appears around 13:48 for a few seconds?In the early 1950s we had a garden, but never for floral displays as it was used to grow such things as potatoes, lettuce, carrots, raspberries/loganberries and whatever and only had daffodils, dandelions and what seemed to be the customary lilac tree. Not counting the few hens (mainly for fresh eggs) that ran free in the garden (and often in the neighbourhood!) until put back into the small hen coop overnight.
