Is there any truth in the rumour that these golf courses are to be sold off? Can anyone confirm or otherwise?

These two courses are probably the only real access point for working class people and young people. This game or sport was out of reach for most workers and poorer teenagers until municipal courses were introduced, this is a backward step for those who are not privaleged to have access to golf. It's unlikely that teens in and around these areas will be able to travel with clubs and bags to Roundhay or Temple N. I appreciate the Council has meet its austerity measures but this is unacceptable.

On page 2 of the Yorkshire Evening Post today (Jan 15 2013) it reports that those two "golf courses threatened with the axe have been given a stay of execution for a year...to allow further consultation to take place".
