That little area opposite the carpet shop.... A few of you could get together and go tidy it. It wouldn't take long. Get the local paper involved. Put the council to shame. We have a road traffic roundabout near us and you should see the state of that! Some here are spectacular but ours looks a mess. In my opinion if they're not prepared to look after it then it may as well be concreted over. It wouldn't look any worse than it does now.

Deputation done. All very scary and grown up. Full Council chamber, address the lady Lord Mayor, escorted by the Mayor's Leuitenant...anyway good news is the Councillors voted to accept the deputation and moved it on to the Executive to consider. So another hurdle jumped.

Yes fingers crossed for you.It seems pretty daft having a piece of unkempt land the locals want to look after, but can't for nonsense red tape and jargon.
My flickr pictures are herehttp://www.flickr.com/photos/phill_dvsn/Because lunacy was the influence for an album. It goes without saying that an album about lunacy will breed a lunatics obsessions with an album - The Dark side of the moon!

If I could get only get the freehold to that odd triangle I'd build on it something like this lovely old+modern on York Sthttp://goo.gl/maps/B1GDWith parking, and then enjoy a Bohemian lifestyle. 0.2Miles / 1 minute to Skyrack.Sorry, but I think that would be nice. What is the plan, idea for this 'little park' then? Wildlife etc?

As sparrow numbers have declined loads in recent years it would be nice if Sparrow Park (small as it is) could (somehow) be made sparrow friendly.

Bird boxes/bat boxes and increasing the variety of wildlife and plants is on the agenda. Planting spring bulbs etc. The vegetation needs managing properly to provide this variety. At the moment it's too dense with saplings and ivy.
