Sitha,Newbie, love the site.I remember me Mam saying that they used to use part of Armley Park as air raid shelters in the War. When you think of it, it was better than using one in your small garden. I was born on Dunkirk Hill and they tried to bomb the Armley Train station which just missed our house.I also remember living at Coal Hill Lane and we had a large stone in our back garden and that was told to us it was a boundary stone for Kirkstall Abbey.
