Dentist's name

Post by Wiljoy »

I seem to remember a dentist on Roundhay road, nearly opposite the Gaiety Cinema in the late 1940s with the name of I.Pullem....I have mentioned this at various times to friends and the believe I am "PULLING"....PUN INTENDED...THEIR LEGS....can anyone confirm this for me,I know for certain that I haven't dreamt it.

You were almost right. It was Ernest T Pulham

My dentist was Mr Wade on Brudenell Road (the triangle formed by the other two roads, Welton Road and Chestnut Avenue).

My grandmother always told me He'd taken over from a Mr Pulham. I wonder if they were related?

I seem to remember a haulage firm in Leeds in the 50's called Murray & Bright. Does anyone else recall the firm?

Murray and Bright were I think plumbers merchants
on Roseville Road

I wouldn't disagree with that "dogduke", it certainly rings a bell. Just glad I wasn't imagining it.
