A question for our resident public transport experts...The 40, operated by Worst, runs betwixt Seacroft Bus Station and Infirmary Street and vice versa. However on a Sunday, the display on the buses reads 'Leeds Kirkgate'.Checking the Worst and Metro websites and the online timetables, they all show that the service operates to infirmary Street like the rest of the week. There seems to be no obvious reason why Sunday journeys are beshortened and it seems odd to miss out the stop at the railway station. So, can anyone solve the mystery?

The PDF version of the Route 40 timetable on the Metro website does show these "short" workings. In the evening however alternate journeys do go through to Infirmary Street. All Seacroft bound journeys start at Infirmary Street. I think the answer is that the City bound buses change to a different destination at Kirkgate and the opposite applies at Infirmary Street in the other direction.
