The west end of the station is now as bad as the east,its a real problem, with most services to KX being delayed by Cross Country services going via Wakefield Westgate.Murmurings are abound of new platforms at Leeds and the re opening of the viaduct could well be on the cards.and as for growth in rail demand,well there is going to be a third hourly service from Leeds to KX within the next 5 years.Another bonus is that the viaducts gradient profile is less severe than Holbeck jcn/Copley Chord.That means a shorter journey time to Geldard road can be achieved on the viaduct whilst relieving capacity issues at the west end.It would make better sense than having a walkway to an industrial estate.

Network Rail clearly aren't interested and if the locals think they can have the scheme up and running for £10k (including two brand new stairwells to access the viaduct) then I'll believe it when I see it.The report is also full of blatant inaccuracies - it claims that "Holbeck Viaduct, which runs from Gelderd Road to Globe Road, has been unused for more than a third of its 145-year history but now residents are trying to reclaim it".A third of 145 years is a touch over 48 years - which would mean it was last used in 1966.....
