Ok. It seems that the plan alteration I did above has served it's purpose. However, it still doesn't seem clear, to me!! thereforeThe red line is old Wellington Rd. The blue line is the approx route of the old Gelderd Rd. You can plainly see the the new route, but old Wellington Rd can still be seen today!

The buildings you can just see under the Gelderd road bridge- (right) is the row of shops to the left of the White Horse as was.

there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.

Of Course! Being moi,I was facing the wrong direction! I thought we were looking UP Wellington RD ,not down to Armley Rd corner!Did my comments on the OLD junction of Whitehall Rd and Gelderd Rd near Domestic St. throw any light on things as they werepre 1970?Exit,stage Left!Arry

To throw a bit more mystery on this thread i was suprised to spot this yesterday. I've passed it loads of times & never noticed before. The entrance looks to be in no mans land between Gelderd road & Wellington road looking at the bridge markings here

I always thought Wellington road was to the left & Geldered to the right. Perhaps the sign erector had a few beers that day? :-)
