Oldest Dwelling

I believe that parts of what is now Hollybush Conservation Centre date back to the 1600s, though the building has been modified a number of times in it's history... how much of the original structure survives is difficult to say.Actually, i may start a thread on that, to traul for general info

There was a house that stood until recent months that was yet another one rumoured to be 'the oldest building in Leeds'. It was halfway up King Lane, Alwoodley, between The Avenue and Alwoodley Lane. It was tiny, and derelict-looking, sitting in the garden of another house. The builders 'accidentally' backed a JCB into the back of it when they were building a new house on the same plot several months ago. I think there was a letter or two of complaint in the YEP at the time?Makes me wonder how many neighbourhoods have a derelict building that some locals claim to be 'the oldest house in Leeds'!

there's a 16th century dwelling now used as an architects office near rothwell on the road to leeds from caswithin I believe the environs of Leeds Met Council sorry reggie you beat me to it!
