Hi everyone! Thought I'd be the only one here!!! Lol!!! I love all this kind of stuff, so I'll be a regular now I've signed up!!!Onto my question...I remember when I was young, being told of a secret tunnel that runs from Kirkstall Abbey, right through to Leeds City Varieties. As I got older, 2 more (different) people told me about it, one of them being someone who worked at the theatre itself. I can't seem to find out any more about this. Has anyone else heard of it? I seem to recall it was said the tunnel was an escape route for the monks from the Abbey. I don't think I'd volunteer to go through it if it was found, but it'd be interesting to know if it exists!!!?

This Kirkstall abbey tunnel is the only thing you can't get any positive feed back to where it actually is. It does exist-but there is a lot of old fish wifes tales surrounding it i think. There's countless versions. I'd like to see some credible evidence on film...

There is old tunnels under the arches. It's just knowing where to look. They usually had a role to play & were not really for villainous activities. There not in obvious places thats why they go undetected..
