Today some friends and I are going to go on a small mission around horsforth Starting with Chalkies (the abandoned chalk factory)Phil has several pictures of it on his Flickr Album Its the place with the "totem poles" and a bunker next to it After that we will be going to the abandoned church and factory Don't worry we are planning on taking lots of pictures

where is chalkies? i live in cookridge and walk my dog a lot so is chalkies easy to get to?

I forgot to say everything i important in my last post lol Its quite a walk from cookridge When we were there the bunkers wernt much but we found the enterence to a maintainence hatch and after climbing onto the roof we found some very deep ladders that lead down inside the second floor of the building

I lived in horsforth for 21 years and I don't know where 'the chalkies' is!!!

I think it's the generation of kids at the time calling stuff different names. It's near the River Aire opposite the Abbey pub near Pollard bridge if i'm thinking correctly what foustace has been up too!
