More blocked off tunnels

I've been having another nosey around Marsh lane station in my quest to find out where the entrance was under the arches and i found this interesting little locked doorway that seemingly goes under the bridge steps on railway street. Funny how i'd never noticed it before.

Eagle eyed folk may just be able to see the overgrown platform remains of Marsh lane station further down the line. still intact 49yrs after it closed.

As far as i can see the entrance was where the steel fencing is blocking access behind arch 79. There is a locked doorway through there. I love underneath railway viaducts..especially blocked off entrances. Such mysterious places..

There was talk of opening another station in this area in recent years, serving Quarry Hill and providing a link to the bus station to form a combined 'transport interchange'. It would have been quite a bit further to the west of here. I've heard no mention in the last couple of years, seeming to have disappeared along with the idea of reopening Kirkstall Station.

Didnt there used to be a station at Osmondthorpe, seem to recall that it was at the side of the footbridge which lead to York Road from Wykebeck Avenue?

Yes, Osmondthorpe had a station. Would be an ideal place to have one again really. Haven't looked to see if there is any trace of the old Osmondthorpe station, there's usually something to see.

A couple of wooden huts for shelters is about as grand as it got. It was were the footbridge that crosses the line is now.. The social club is next door. Is it halton moor social club? I can't remember...

I can't remember... I remember an old grey metal bridge I used to cross on my way to school in the 70's and a concrete platform next to it that could have been the remains of a station platform. They built a new bridge soon after. The social club was the BRSA club or the railway club. I remember my mates dad and his mates used to go dressed as a teddyboys.
