Thanks Chameleon.
Yes the Park square/Headrow substation IS very interesting.
I guess it's more than likely connected to the tunnels, It certainly runs in line with the vents from Northern street. I've dotted the substation and vents up on this google image here

I doubt that's the exact course the tunnel travels though.

Phill don't forget there is a large substation here too (yellow rectangle) and wasn't this also the site of the old power station of which it would have been a part and the origin of the tunnels? I'm sure in one of the old posts there is a description by someone who has been down there from the power statiohn side...

EDIT:

For some reason I can't upload my altered pic to high light this, during the time I've been cursing, you've discovered this - opposite Northern Street running off the bottom of your picture. Confirms more than the one though.

This is posted on the Hidden Leeds message board.

ste
the entrance to one of the underground service tunnels is in the grounds of the electricity substation off whitehall road, near the aire street junction.unfortunately it is only accessible to electric board worker droids.it heads off in the direction of city square with plenty of locked doors along its length.it isnt spectacular.

Can you add a 'note box' to my flickr image? it's easy to do. It should say 'add note' at the top of the picture. You can drag it where you like with your cursor, alter the size of the box, and add what text you like.

I can't really get what this substation is all about
http://snipurl.com/und5d

It's not really like any others, it has offices upstairs, and seems to be part of the joining building. Any ideas?

Seems to be so, I remember it being just a compound. If you look carefully, you can see the tops of the transformers/connecting busbrs in the background.
