Does anyone have any idea what these gates were / are for?https://goo.gl/maps/v2qLfhttps://www.go ... ?hl=enI've tried to make it out though I am not sure. There is what looks like a cricket crease in the centre of the land behind, and there is also an intercom system on the gate post.A quick google reveals it was the HQ Sports and Social club though I wonder why it has been left to overgrow and why it is in such a bad state. Any clues?

Yes, civil service sports club, I played footy there a few times. IIRC it was closed with the intention of flogging it for development some years ago.

I seem to remember the premises reopened as a pub/bar servingfood,it was signposted from the Harehills Lane end.
