Spotted this a while back, difficult to photograph, revered lettering on glass, perhaps reused from somewhere else? It's opposite the uni.

You couldn't have a 'medical electrician and masseur' without YEB and its forebears. I wonder what Mr Holdgate actually did.

I took these photos on February 10 2015. The first shows a close-up of what will be a very old notice on a metal gate. Some of the wording is unclear but what I can make out seems to state "LNER & LMS RAIL(WAYS?) LEEDS JOINT STATION IN CASE OF FIRE APPLY FOR KEYS AT PARCEL OFFICE". I assume the notice predates the nationalisation of British Railways in 1948. The second photo shows the notice on the gate and the third shows its location (on the left gate as seen) where Little Neville Street meets the Dark Arches.

Edit added several minutes later. Since I posted I have done a better search of Secret Leeds and found that Tasa posted some photos of the notice board in a post on Wed Feb 29, 2012 8:21 pm in a 'Network rail archive' thread. My bad! Well at least the notice board is still there but perhaps not much longer with the work going on fairly close-by for the Leeds Station Southern Entrance (LSSE).
