Talking of coins, many years back the Dalesman magazine had an article on an old custom of throwing coins to Kilnsey Crag from the road. I think it was supposed to be a romantic thing to impress your girlfriend that you had the strength to throw a coin a fair way. The article said a number of coins had been found in a short search. I went a couple or so weeks later and stopped to have a good look around and found nothing! Too late I guess. Sorry this is not Leeds but I thought it may still be of fun interest.

Have any of you given the coins a close inspection cos I'm wondering if there are more old coins (farthings etc) than new?My youngest read this thread a few hours ago and has fallen in love with the Love Padlock idea.....I can guess what she'll be making her partner buy this Saturday. Young love eh!
