Anyone know the story behind these laughing gargoyles/angels found on the gatehouse? It mentions Gibbons and the number 61/49 - what can that mean?Believe the graveyard was established in 1865I wonder what the gargoyles are thinking to make them laugh - something like "Your turn next"?Unusual to see humour in a graveyard especially Victorian. Don't know the story, but at a guess, 61/49 is the plot number, and Gibbons was the sculptor? Seems rather prominent though...What are they holding above the shield?
