Pickle factory, Holbeck

Post by harrym1byt »

In my family research, I have had a rather cryptic email from someone who might be a distant relative, mentioning a pickle factory - possibly in Holbeck, possibly somewhere near Domestic Street in possibly the 1950's. Sorry for all the 'possibly's', but does anyone know of such a business? A 1950's OS map shows nothing marked on it as a pickle factory.

Thanks both! I think I have now found on the old map, where it must have been.

That is brilliant, although i don't remember the Pickle Factory the picture of the Petrol Station does bring back memories. Once i did need a haircut and unfortunately strayed into that Barbers opposite. After telling him just how i wanted it i sat there and the end result was just " Short Back and Sides" I never went there again.

Hi volvojack i went into the barbers when i was ta teenager and asked for a Tony Curtis hair cut. When he had finished i looked in the mirror not a hair left on my head. I said to him do you know who Tony Curtis is, yes he said he played the lead in the King And I.
No matter were i end my days im an Hunslet lad with Hunslet ways.
