Thanks johnnyg for that excellent information regarding the steel buckle plates and the structure of Leeds Bridge which I did not know of :).

As to the steel kerbs I therefore think that the one on this side of the bridge may be seen running along by what was the roadside yellow line in this photo that I took on January 30 2018.

Absolutely right Leodian. You can also see the kerb in your second photo on the first page. Great work on your photos.

On going to the bridge today (Feb 27 2018) to see what has gone on and hoping there may be photos to be taken I found that there is now a plastic green mesh over where there had not been any and as it would obscure photos I did not take any (when I was there around 12:15ish there was no work going on, probably due to the cold wintry weather).

This is a photo of the work that I took on March 6 2018 but having to put my camera up against the plastic mesh (that is a much smaller mesh than it seems in the photo). The mesh makes it hard to get good photos.

There is also now a plastic mesh at the Regent Street entry/exit of the old gas office site so it is hard to get good photos from there of the work going on. I cannot see how the mesh will really help in security and it will not retain dust/dirt so it would seem its purpose at the two sites could be to stop good photos being taken but if so that seems to be very petty.

Looks has though they have replaced all of the old metalwork .With today's traffic it does not surprise me it has done well to stand up to the test of time.

The mesh is put there for safety reasons ie: to stop chippings and any other objects flying out from the works and hitting pedestrians or passing vehicles. It is not to stop people taking pictures but purely for safety.
Is this the end of the story ...or the beginning of a legend?

This is a photo that I took just before 12:20 on May 1 2018 of the work going on at Leeds Bridge. The readily seen face clock states 12:00 but it has been stopped at 12:00 (on that face) for a long time!
