Identify this pic please!

Post by Wanderer »

This is a pic of a pic, popped into the Old Unicorn in Bramley and was drawn to this picture on the wall, not sure if it's even taken in Leeds but I need to know where it was taken!!

To be honest it doesn;t look like Leeds anywhere, but as I'm from Lancashire (sorry) I wouldn't really know...

I have no idea but it does look like there has something happened or about to happen as most of the onlookers seem to be looking away from the river.. very intriguing .

Apparently it's in Rotherham so sadly not Leeds.

Thanks gents but it was pure fluke on my part as I initially typed Chantry bridge into Google thinking more of the bridge on Doncaster Rd Wakefield which had a similar look to it. A few searches in and up popped the picture of the bridge at Rotherham!

As for the Bramley connection possibly a previous landlord hailed from there or perhaps its just some coincidental art piece with an oldie world look that a lot of pub landlords like to display these days?

There is a Bramley in/near Rotherham and a
couple more in the country

The link between the two (Wakefield and Rotherham) seems to be the Chantry chapel built on the bridge:
