The Bond Street Centre is mentioned in earlier posts. When I was in there earlier today I noticed that the side corridor that leads off from the throughway from Albion Street to Basinghall Street is now boarded up (the shops there were emptied some days back).

This image is taken from the Trinity Leeds webcam and shows a view of the site earlier today. It looks like a fun very large Meccano set! The white stuff is the recent snow. Increasing construction work at the site has been going on noticeably recently.

The YEP yesterday (July 20 2011) had a report about work on the roof of the Leeds Trinity Project. This is the link to that report:- http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/n ... _3595717As I have saved many images taken by the project webcam for well over 2 years now I thought it may be of interest to show one taken today (July 21) which should be with this post. It can be compared to an image of the scene taken 1 year ago on July 21 2010 which should be on my next post (I have never managed to post more than 1 photo in one post, sorry!). The massive difference at the site is very obvious between the two photos.

Thanks for posting those photos Leodian - very interesting to see the new development, as I don't check the Trinity website. As much as I'm not into shopping centres (or even shopping!), it's good to see this empty hole in the centre of Leeds finally being filled.I'm looking forward to the completion of the development of Market Street Arcade too, then the section of Briggate towards Boar Lane/Duncan Street might actually be pleasant to walk down again!

I thought it may be of interest to post 2 more webcam images that I have saved that show changes at the Trinity Leeds Project site. This one was taken on May 5 2011 and can be compared to a webcam view taken on May 5 2012 that will be in my next post.

This is the webcam image taken on May 5 2012. It shows well what I jokingly refer to as the 'Skiing slalom course' that almost looks like it could be joining up with the new, but not just yet opened, Market Street Arcade on the opposite side of Briggate. The change in the Trinity Leeds Project in a year is very noticeable.

Good pictures Leodian. At the risk of being "anti progress" which I'm not I have to say that I was surprised and displeased that planning permission was granted to virtually swallow up the beautiful and historic Trinity Church. The new centre is far far too close to the Church on all sides, Boar Lane being the only acceptable one for me.The Market Street Arcade is becoming a bit of a joke. How on earth can it have taken so long to trim up a grotty little feature like that - on the hoardings we are still informed that shop units will be available in mid 2011 !!
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/n ... 24362Lokks like changes for church itself.Sad to say,but time moves on,and the building and its fabric are now the important thing to preserve.
