This was the old Leeds Grammar School built and funded by John Harrison. Situated on North Street, where the Grand now stands. That whole area (the Grand up to the end of the Merrion Centre/The Light) were all countrified Almshouses from the 17th Century. Does anyone know of any evidence of protest at the construction of the Merrion Centre and the demolition of these almshouses?
