I would not normally bump up a thread but I am surprised that there has been no comments in relation to the sad news of the death of Geoff Gunney. Though I have always been a football fan since a child and possibly never saw him paying Rugby League I did know of Geoff and the famous Hunslet team of his time. It would seem sadly that with the passing of time there are few around now who recall him at least playing.Leodian wrote:In the Family Announcements section of the Yorkshire Evening Post today (June 15 2018) there is a sad announcement headed 'GUNNEY Geoff MBE Hunslet RLFC & Great Britain' who died on June 6 aged 84 "after a long illness".

Sad news about Geoff Gunney. A boyhood hero and a truly heroic servant of Hunslet.
